Father Michael's Weekly Reflection

"Seek the LORD while he may be found, call him while he is near." (Isaiah 55:6)

This is the Twenty Fifth Sunday of Ordinary Time. God is God and we are not. In our relationship with Him, we need to practice substantial humility. God answered Job, "Where were you when I created the world?"Jesus revealed the face of God who is infinite in his attributes while we are finite. God is ultimately in control of everything.

The future is uncertain but the one who holds it is not. Very often we give God our concern but by worrying, we slowly take back our gift. Life is lived one moment at a time, one day at a time. There is a sufficient grace for every situation we will face. If we are living and breathing right now it is because God has sustained us. 

Questions for Reflection:

• Is there something bothering me that I haven't turned over to God?
• If I look back on my life am I able to see how God's grace has sustained me?
• Does the truth that God is not only all powerful but infinitely good, give me hope?
