Faith Formation

BAPTISM MINISTRY
Baptism Ministers help the families preparing for the Sacrament of Baptism. Additionally, ministers set-up for the celebration of the sacrament in group baptisms and assist at the liturgy when the sacrament is celebrated at Mass. This is a very rewarding experience for a married couple. Alternatively, you could be paired with another minister as an individual. For more information email Luz Reyna at parishoffice@gscceg.org.

CFF PROGRAM - CHILDREN'S FAITH FORMATION
Good Shepherd Church Catholic Faith Formation program welcomes all baptized children/youth to participate in the CFF Program. Our program is staffed completely by volunteers – Catechists - who donate their time and talent.

What is a catechist? They are ordinary people doing extraordinary tasks of teaching and sharing their faith as Jesus did-sharing our faith, leading by example and creating opportunities for our children to experience the importance of Jesus in their lives. CFF

CHILDREN'S LITURGY OF THE WORD (CLOW)
Children’s Liturgy of the Word is a ministry designed to accommodate children in first through fourth grades at the 9 and 11 am Masses.  The children are dismissed from Mass before the first reading so that they can hear the Word of God in age appropriate language. They then participate in discussions about what they are reading and return to Mass after the Homily. For more information contact Chris Kusuma or Maureen Smith at clow@gscceg.org.

FIAT - YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY

KINDERCHURCH
Kinderchurch is a parent participation religious education program for children between the ages of 2 to 5.  Our ministry takes place during the 11:00 am Sunday Mass on the first and third Sundays of the month.  The children involved learn about our Catholic Faith through age-appropriate stories, songs, activities and lessons.  Teachers, assistants and youth volunteers are always appreciated and welcome!  We would love to have you join the ministry if you have a desire to share God's word with the children.  No experience is necessary and all curriculum and materials are provided for the classes.  Please contact Lauren Austin or Evee Ricacho at kinderchurch@gmail.com.  (Registration information can be found at https://gscceg.org/blog/kinderchurch-back)

ONE EIGHT (1:8) CONFIRMATION PREPARATION
Our Confirmation Preparation program, let by the Holy Spirit, the guidance of the Bishop, and our pastor, provides formation to the middle school and high school youth of our parish to prepare them to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.  This is a two-year program that cultivates within each candidate a sense of belonging to the parish, fuller participation in the liturgical life of the Church, a relationship with God through prayer and the sacraments, and a desire to live as a true witness of Christ in the world.  For more information contact Elizabeth Pott at confirmationcoordinator@gscceg.org.

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS (RCIA)
The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults process is a series of carefully planned stages, marked by liturgical rites in the presence of the Good Shepherd community, in which new Catholics embark on and join us in a continuing and deepening conversion of faith and discipleship. The RCIA takes the distinctive history and spiritual needs of each person into account. Volunteers are needed in many areas to provide support to the RCIA catechumens. For more information contact Rich & Sharon Dorricott at sdorricott@frontier.com.
