Are You Seeking to Become Catholic?

You are invited to join the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA), a journey of faith for UNBAPTIZED adults who desire to become members of the Catholic Church and receive the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.

The OCIA process for the 2026–2028 catechetical year will begin in October 2026 and culminate with the Reception of the Sacraments of Initiation at the Easter Vigil in 2028.

OCIA is a carefully planned journey of conversion and discipleship, consisting of distinct stages marked by liturgical rites celebrated with the Good Shepherd community. Through prayer, instruction, reflection, and participation in the life of the Church, they grow in faith as they prepare to enter full communion with Christ and His Church.

Are you a baptized Catholic who has not yet received all the Sacraments of Initiation? Or have you received a valid baptism in another Christian tradition and feel called to become fully united with the Catholic Church?

You are invited to participate in the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) program, designed specifically for baptized persons who are seeking full communion with the Catholic Church.

This OCIA program is only for those who have already been validly BAPTIZED. Participants in this program are not required to follow the traditional OCIA Easter-to-Easter timeline. Instead, this process is designed to prepare baptized Christians to receive the remaining Sacraments of Initiation and enter into the full communion of the Catholic Church.

Program Schedule

Classes begin: Thursday, February 4, 2027
When: Every Thursday, 6:00–7:30 p.m.
Where: St. Francis of Assisi Classroom

Those who are prepared will receive the remaining Sacraments of Initiation—Confirmation and Eucharist—on: Saturday, June 19, 2027

Registration Information: Deadline to REGISTER HERE January 31, 2027. Space is limited. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. All required documents must be submitted with your application, including:

• Marriage certificate (if applicable)

We invite you to the Adult Confirmation Preparation Program designed for baptized Catholics, 18 and older,  who have already received their First Holy Communion and now wish to complete their initiation into the Catholic faith through the Sacrament of Confirmation.  

The next Adult Confirmation session will begin in Spring 2027. 

• Classes will meet weekly on Thursdays from 6:00-7:30 PM.
• These 9-week classes will run from April 8, 2027, through June 3, 2027.  The 10th class will be a Saturday Retreat on June 12, 2027, from 1:00 - 4:30 PM, followed by a Vigil Mass at 5:00 PM.
• Reception of Confirmation Mass will be held on June 19, 2027 at Good Shepherd Parish.
• The cost for the Adult Confirmation program is $100.00.
• You will be required to scan & upload the following documents to the online registration form. Scan all documents as individual files.
  • Birth Certificate
  • Baptism Certificate (recently issued within the last 6 months)
  • First Holy Communion Certificate
  • If you are married (must be in a Catholic Marriage), a Marriage Certificate
• The online Adult Confirmation Registration link will only be activated from January 1, 2027 to January 31, 2027.
