2025-26 Faith Formation Registration

REGISTRATION CLOSES JULY 31, 2025 AT 5:00 PM (PST)

Welcome to Faith Formation & Sacrament Preparation for 2025-2026.
The information on this page pertains ONLY to CFF Families at Good Shepherd Parish.

Good Shepherd Parish provides Faith Formation Classes for the following:
Children's Faith Formation Classes for Grades 1 - 6 
Sacrament Preparation for Baptism & First Holy Eucharist for Grades 1 - 12
Sacrament Preparation for Confirmation for Grades 7 - 12

If you have a child with Special Needs who needs the sacraments,
please contact the Office of Religous Education for a referral to our Diocesan Resources. 

Regarding Registration:

• Registrations are processed on a first come/first serve basis as they are received.
• Class availability is subject to change based on enrollment and available volunteer Catechists/Core Team.
• We have a brand new parish software system.  Documents will be required for ALL children being registered this year even if you provided these documents in previous years. 
• Please refer to the checklists below and have these documents scanned, completed (in the case of the Diocesan Youth Permission Form) and saved BEFORE you begin the online registration.  

FAMILY REGISTRATION CHECKLIST:

• Pull together all documentation for each child being registered for 2025-26 (see the checklist below that pertains to EACH child.).  These documents will need to be scanned and uploaded to the registration form for each child.  Acceptable uploads include .pdf, .png and .jpg files (up 10 MB per upload)
• Complete a Diocesan Youth Permission Form for each child being registered for 2025-26.  Save each file by the child's name.
• Map out your Faith Formation classes using the class schedule below. 
• Verify the registration fee and if applicable, the sacrament preparation fees, for your family based on the registration/fee schedule below.  
• Acceptable forms of payment for the new online registration form is debit/credit card only.  You will not be able to submit your registration form without payment.
• If you have any questions, contact the Office of Religious Education (916-683-2963) BEFORE you begin the registration.  You cannot save your progress once you start the form. 

For EACH Child registrant you will need:

• Birth Certificate 
• Baptism Certificate (not required if received at Good Shepherd Parish)
• First Holy Communion Certificate (only if the child has already received this sacrament - not required if received at Good Shepherd Parish) 
• Diocesan Youth Permission Form (if you have multiple children, please complete & save this form under each child's full name so that it can be easily identified)

For Teen Sacrament Preparation (TSP) or Confirmation Preparation registration, you will also need the following:

• GMAIL Address for the Primary Parent (necessary for Google Classroom and communications)
• GMAIL Address for the student different from the Parent's GMAIL Address (necessary for Google Classroom and communications)

2025-2026 FAITH FORMATION CLASS SCHEDULE

Continuing CFF Classes (Grades 3-6), First Holy Communion Classes and Teen Sacrament Preparation (TSP)

• FHC Year 1 Classes: For children in Grades 1-6 who are in their first year of preparation for the Sacrament of First Holy Communion.  They will take a grade level general catechesis class only this year.
• FHC Year 2 Class:  For children in Grades 3-6 who are in their second year of preparation for the Sacrament of First Holy Communion, they will take a grade level general catechesis class PLUS the FHC Year 2 class. 
• TSP Class:  For children in grades 7-12 who need the Sacrament of First Holy Communion

A registration discount may be applied for approved CFF Catechist & Confirmation Core Team families.
