Jesus, the Good Shepherd, leaves the 99 sheep to seek the one that is lost. And, when he finds it, he brings it home, and calls everyone in heaven to rejoice more over the one repentant sinner than over the 99 who have no need of repentance."
Gospel of St. Luke 15:3-7
If you are a CATHOLIC who has been AWAY from the CHURCH for a while, this INVITATION is for YOU!
Our faith community at Good Shepherd Catholic Church misses you and is incomplete without you!
No matter how long you have been away or for whatever reason, we invite you to CONSIDER renewing your relationship with the Catholic Church.
Please join us for informal listening sessions and an update of the Catholic faith facilitated by mostly former non-practicing Catholics. The sessions are conducted in a support-group format.
Everyone is WELCOME, no matter where you are in your life’s journey!
We are using “The Parish Guide for Implementing Catholics Returning Home Ministry—Outreach to Non-Practicing Catholics authored by Sally L. Mews. Her ministry to non-practicing Catholics was born out of her own experience returning to the Church after so many years of being separated. Catholics Returning Home (CRH) was recognized by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops in “A Time to Listen...A Time to Heal,” as a model program for reaching out to non-practicing Catholics.
CRH sessions are offered as a six-week series led by CRH Team Members: Mary Palmer, Michelle Hayes, Mike and Laura Blakey, Jerry and Verne Bowers. All sessions are structured in a support-group format.
For more information, please call Verne Bowers (916) 479-3930 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to having a conversation with all prospective participants.
