Father Michael's Weekly Reflection

Weekly Reflection - 6th Sunday of Easter (2026)

"I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you." (Jn. 14:18)

This is the Sixth Sunday of Easter. God so loved the world that he sent his only Son. The deepest desire of the human heart is to love and be loved. When these needs are not met, we fall into a sense of orphanhood. As a Christian I know that I have a Father in heaven who invites me to a filial relationship.

Jesus promised us an Advocate, the Paraclete who would teach us all things. Divine intimacy happens when we surrender our lives to God. All is paid by all. This allows us to experience God in a real way. The Holy Spirit intercedes for us with inexpressible groans that express our real needs to God. He is the protagonist of our Spiritual Life. We have to allow him full entrance into our hearts and souls. He is willing to heal our wounds and allow us the freedom we long for but we must do our part.

Questions for Reflection:

  • Do I experience God in my life?
  • If I review my recent spending, can I see what I love?
  • Do I live for Him?
