First Holy Communion Preparation

Year 1 First Holy Eucharist Preparation is for NEW students entering grades 1 & 2.

The first-grade program lays the foundation for your child’s spiritual growth and the spiritual development of their knowledge of the Catholic faith. The focus in year 1 is for the child to know that God’s love and friendship are always with them. We will present a simple foundation for building a relationship with God. They will learn the elementary prayers and will introduce new ones as well. We will introduce them to Keywords to Remember to help them improve their faith vocabulary.

Year 2 First Holy Eucharist Preparation is for students entering grades 2 & 3 who have already completed Year 1.

Your child will learn Jesus’ forgiveness and peace in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. They will recognize the great gift of the Eucharist when they receive the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ under the appearances of bread and wine. Your child will learn the Real Presence of Jesus in these Sacraments. Lastly, your child will learn the meaning of Mass, its different parts, and how to be an active participant.

Level 1 First Holy Eucharist Preparation is for NEW students entering grades 3 - 5.

The Level 1 program is for older grade school students still needing First Holy Eucharist Preparation.  If you have a child entering school in the Fall as a 3rd – 5th grader, they will begin their general grade level catechesis for the first year of sacrament preparation. During this year, they will learn the foundation of the Catholic faith in an age-appropriate, fun, fast paced environment.  Students will learn the elementary prayers and we will introduce new ones as well. We will present them with a building block of Keywords to Remember to help them improve their faith vocabulary.

Level 2 First Holy Eucharist Preparation is for students entering grades 4 - 6 who have already completed Level 1.

The Level 2 program is for older grade school students in their second year of sacrament preparation for First Holy Eucharist.  This year focuses specifically on preparing your child for their first celebration of the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist, in addition to continuing their general catechesis education.

This year, students will register for two classes - their grade level general catechesis class AND their sacrament preparation class (offered on Thursdays only).

In these classes, your child will learn Jesus’ forgiveness and peace in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This year will conclude with the reception of the First Holy Eucharist.

TSP First Holy Eucharist Preparation is for NEW students entering grades 6 – 12.

This program is for older students still needing First Holy Eucharist Preparation. If you have a child entering school in the Fall as a 6th – 12th grader, this class will prepare them to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Eucharist. Unlike traditional 2-year sacrament preparation programs, TSP is a one- year “fast-track” program with language and structure meant to catch them up with the foundation of the Catholic faith AND prepare them to enter Confirmation Preparation after receiving the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Eucharist.  They will learn the elementary prayers and we will introduce new ones as well. We will present them with a building block of Keywords to Remember to help them improve their faith vocabulary.

This year, students will register for two classes - their grade level General Catechesis class that will be year-long AND an additional TSP Sacrament Preparation class that will begin in January.  TSP classes are only offered on Thursdays.

In these classes, your child will learn Jesus’ forgiveness and peace in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This year-long program will conclude with the reception of the First Holy Eucharist.
