The Grove Youth Ministry

Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity."

1 Timothy 4:12

The Good Shepherd youth group is a community of high school youth at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. We meet for youth group nights and other events both in the parish and outside of the parish. Our youth program provides Christian fellowship, community, and prayer for any and all high school youth.

Sundays 6-8 p.m.

Our weekly youth events are a central part of the youth program. We start each Sunday with the 5 p.m. Youth Mass and move from Mass into a time for fellowship, food, games, activities, prayer, and much more. These events are lead by the Coordinator of Youth Ministry and the Core team, who have been trained in youth ministry and have a passion for leading the teens closer to Christ.

As a Eucharist-centered movement within the Roman Catholic Church, we hope to lead teenagers and their families into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church. With the Blessed Virgin Mary as our intercessor and guide, we seek to unleash the fullness of the Sacramental power present within the young Church.

The Core Team is a team of committed members of the Church who have chosen to volunteer their time and talents (and even treasures) to minister to the high school teens. With our mission in mind, each Core member is trained in basic youth ministry skills, from facilitating small groups to public speaking to leading prayer sessions. Above all, they are committed to forming relationships with the youth and being strong witnesses of the Catholic faith.

Time commitment: Sundays 4-8:30pm (Setup, Mass, Takedown), and Mondays 7-9 pm (Weekly Core meeting)

How to join: Must be 19+. Fill out the online application below, and the youth minister will contact you. Any questions can be emailed to lifeteen@gscceg.org

In order to center our youth program on the Eucharist and the sacraments, we have dedicated the 5 pm Sunday mass to the youth, providing homilies, liturgical service, and music oriented towards the youth to better enter into the Mass. Every Life Night begins with the Youth Mass at 5 p.m.
The Life Teen Band leads the music in the liturgy at the Youth Mass. They practice every Tuesday, 7-9 p.m. (temporarily suspended). If you are interested in auditioning for the Band, please email our youth minister at lifeteen@gscceg.org

Be who you were created to be, and you will set the world on fire."

What is Life Teen?

Do not be afraid. Do not be satisfied with mediocrity. Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch."
