The Grove Youth Ministry

It is Jesus that you seek when you dream of happiness; He is waiting for you when nothing else you find satisfies you; He is the beauty to which you are so attracted; it is He who provoked you with that thirst for fullness that will not let you settle for compromise; it is He who urges you to shed the masks of a false life; it is He who reads in your hearts your most genuine choices, the choices that others try to stifle."

St. John Paul II

The Grove

The Grove Youth Ministry is a community focused on providing opportunities for the youth at Good Shepherd Catholic Church to encounter Christ. There will be gatherings throughout the year to socialize and develop friendships, to learn and explore the Catholic faith, and most importantly, to build upon their relationship with Jesus Christ. One of our goals here at The Grove is to be a community that supports our young people in being the "Now of God," protagonists, and missionary disciples.

Requirements

All youth attending must fill out the Diocesan Youth Permission form.  The link for it will be on sidebar on the left.

If you are currently enrolled in Confirmation Preparation, the Diocesan Youth Permission Form you submitted with your 2025-2026 Confirmation Registration will also apply to the GROVE Youth Ministry and you do not need to complete the form again.

If you are interested in committing to be part of the peer ministry team for 2026-2027, please fill out this application soon! https://forms.gle/wsXNiF3iqxWKjxu97

Summary: Triumph of the Heart is a 2025 biographical drama directed by Anthony D'Ambrosio that chronicles the final two weeks of St. Maximilian Kolbe’s life in an Auschwitz starvation bunker. In the harrowing confines of Auschwitz's starvation cell, Catholic priest St. Maximilian Kolbe volunteers to die in place of another prisoner, joining nine others condemned by the Nazis. As despair and fear grip the group, the pressures of starvation, internal ideological division, mount. But throughout, Kolbe's appeal to their shared humanity and Polish identity forges a brotherhood that culminates in a poignant act of sacrifice that echoes beyond the cell, illuminating hope in one of history's darkest moments.
GROVE CREDIT for teens in Confirmation Preparation (2 GROVE Credits): QR codes will be posted in the Parish Hall at the end of the event for Teens to record their attendance and receive 2 GROVE credits for their participation.

Our Team

"Be who you were created to be, and you will set the world on fire." - St. Catherine of Siena

The Grove Team is a team of committed members of the Church who have chosen to volunteer their time and talents (and even treasures) to minister to middle and high school teens. With our mission in mind, each Grove Team member is trained in basic youth ministry skills, from facilitating small groups to public speaking to leading prayer sessions. Above all, we are committed to forming Christ-centered relationships with the youth and being strong witnesses of the Catholic faith. Each member of the team is not just a"volunteer," adult team members are Youth Ministers, and our youth team members are Peer Ministers.
If you are interested or feel called to minister with our young people, we are more than happy to accompany you on that journey. We provide workshops, community and prayer for our team members to grow in faith and talents. Please reach out and let us know.
