June 22
The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus Christ is also known as Corpus Christi Sunday. Jesus gives us His own Body and Blood under the forms of bread and wine to God the Father for our salvation (excerpted from CCC 610). Our hunger for Him is satisfied as we make our pilgrim way to the heavenly banquet feast. (Seq). On Corpus Christi, the universal Church expresses this journey as an Eucharistic Procession, where the faithful follow Him in the Blessed Sacrament with prayers and songs. Processions are made around the world on this day. You can participate in the Corpus Christi Procession at Good Shepherd Catholic Church on Sunday, June 22nd after the 5PM Mass.
The National Eucharistic Pilgrimage is this year from Indianapolis to Los Angeles. They will meet up in San Diego with the Camino de California Eucharistic Pilgrimage (starting in Solano/San Francisco) and journey together to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
