Weekly Reflection - 5th Sunday of Easter (2025)

"This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." (Jn. 13:35)

This is the Fifth Sunday of Easter. We are still welcoming our new Holy Father Pope Leo XIV. St. John Paul II dreamed of a new springtime for the Church. He thought it would come in his lifetime after the long winter of the 20th century.  It's 2025 and we still see suffering all around us. At times we are tempted to lose hope and feel that our prayers are futile.

This Holy Year of Pilgrims of Hope invites us to trust in God's fidelity to his promises. He will be there to assist us whatever we have to face. Pope Leo gives us prophetic words on how this springtime will take place."So, let us move forward, without fear, together, hand in hand with God and with one another!" Let us put aside divisive words and attitudes once and for all and build up Christ's Mystical Body.

Questions for Reflection:

  • Am I charitable in my thoughts and words?
  • Do I reflect before I speak?
  • Am I able to focus on a quality in those I find difficulty with?
