Weekly Reflection - 26th Sunday of Ordinary Time (2026)
"Is it my way that is unfair, or rather, are not your ways unfair?" (Ezekiel 18:25)
This is the 26th Sunday of Ordinary Time. This follows up on last week's message. Here, God confronts man about his unfairness. Over time, we can see that God's wisdom has spared us much heartache. We would have gone down a path of our own choosing to our detriment.
Blessed Solanus Casey taught us to thank God beforehand for the grace we are going to receive. If we say that God is good all the time we have to mean it. True peace means placing our concerns in God's hands and leaving them there. Too often, our worry causes us to take back our gift little by little. St. Padre Pio said to pray, hope and don't worry.
Questions for Reflection:
- Have I recognized God's blessings in disguise over time?
- Do I pray, trust and not worry?
- Are my decisions made by prayerful and thoughtful reflection?
