Order of Christian Initiation of Adults
The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults process is a series of carefully planned stages, marked by liturgical rites in the presence of the Good Shepherd community, in which new Catholics embark on and join us in a continuing and deepening conversion of faith and discipleship. The OCIA takes the distinctive history and spiritual needs of each person into account. For more information, contact Rich & Sharon Dorricott at sharondorricott1217@gmail.com.
You are invited to join this class of adults desiring Baptism, Holy Communion, and Confirmation on the road to Full Reception in the Catholic Church. Anyone desiring to join the OCIA program at this time will be receiving their sacraments at the Easter Vigil Mass in 2027. The first part of our class will begin on Sunday, September 7th.

ADULT Confirmation Program
We invite you to the Adult Confirmation Preparation Program designed for baptized Catholics, 18 and older, who have already received their First Holy Communion and now wish to complete their initiation into the Catholic faith through the Sacrament of Confirmation.
The next Adult Confirmation session will begin in Spring 2026.
- Classes will be held weekly on Thursdays from 6:00 - 7:30 PM.
- These weekly classes will start on April 9, 2026, and go through May 21, 2026. The 8th class will be a Saturday Retreat on May 23, 2026, from 1:00 - 4:30 PM, followed by a Vigil Mass at 5:00 PM.
- Reception of Confirmation Mass will be held on June 6, 2026, at Good Shepherd Parish, Elk Grove (with our Teen Confirmation group).
- The cost for the Adult Confirmation program is $75.00.
- You will be required to scan & upload the following documents to the online registration form. Scan all documents as individual files.
- Birth Certificate
- Baptism Certificate (recently issued within the last 6 months)
- First Holy Communion Certificate
- If you are married, a Marriage Certificate
- The online Adult Confirmation Registration link will only be activated from January 31, 2026 to March 20, 2026.
