Weekly Reflection - 6th Sunday in Ordinary Time (2026)

"If you choose you can keep the commandments, they will save you" (Sirach 15:15)

This is the Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time. Christ reinforces that he has not come to abolish the law but rather bring it to completion. He raises the bar to help us understand that charity means the smallest acts and not just broad strokes.

Every one of our actions has an intention. Nothing is hidden to God. Ash Wednesday this week is the privileged time to reorient our entire lives according to God's will. It's the time to take a hard look at the sophisms and excuses we create for ourselves. In our relationship with Christ, everything is important. Love is shown in the details of every day.

Questions for Reflection:

  • Have I reflected upon my Lenten work?
  • Do I realize that my charity includes the smallest details of every day?
  • Am I willing to embrace what God would like me to work on?
