Father Michael's Weekly Reflection

Weekly Reflection - Anniversary of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament (2026)

"So then you are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God." (Eph. 2:19)

This Sunday we celebrate the Anniversary of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. This celebration reminds us of the Church's unity. The Cathedral is considered the Bishop's chair where he presides. The Rector helps the Bishop and the other Pastors collaborate in administering the other Parishes.

In God's Church we are all important. I am a living stone in the Church. The Parish is not the building where we gather on Sunday. It is rather a missionary outpost where disciples are formed and sent into the world. The charism exam helps us identify the specific ways God has gifted us to serve his Church.

Questions for Reflection:

  • Am I proud to be Catholic?
  • Do I consider myself an active participant in its life?
  • Have I taken the Charism exam and reflected prayerfully on the results?
