CFF Program - Catholic Faith Formation

Good Shepherd Church Catholic Faith Formation program welcomes all baptized children/youth to participate in the CFF Program. Our program is staffed completely by volunteers – Catechists - who donate their time and talents.

What is a catechist? They are ordinary people doing extraordinary tasks of teaching and sharing their faith as Jesus did-sharing our faith, leading by example and creating opportunities for our children to experience the importance of Jesus in their lives. CFF

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults process is a series of carefully planned stages, marked by liturgical rites in the presence of the Good Shepherd community, in which new Catholics embark on and join us in a continuing and deepening conversion of faith and discipleship. The RCIA takes the distinctive history and spiritual needs of each person into account. Volunteers are needed in many areas to provide support to the RCIA catechumens. For more information contact Valerie Ramos at RCIA@gscceg.org.

Expectations for RCIA Participants

Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) (currently inactive due to COVID restrictions)

Children’s Liturgy of the Word is a ministry designed to accommodate children in first through fourth grades at the 9am, 11am and 5pm Masses.  The children are dismissed from Mass before the first reading so that they can hear the Word of God in age appropriate language. They then participate in discussions about what they are reading and return to Mass after the Homily. For more information contact Chris Kusuma at clow@gscceg.org.

Kinderchurch (currently inactive due to COVID restrictions)

Kinderchurch is a parent participation religious education program for children between the ages of 18 months to Kindergarten.  Our ministry takes place during the 9am Sunday Mass from September to May of each year.  The children involved learn about our Catholic Faith through age-appropriate stories, songs, activities and lessons.  Teachers, assistants and youth volunteers are always appreciated and welcome!  We would love to have you join the ministry if you have a desire to share God's word with the children.  No experience is necessary and all curriculum and materials are provided for the classes.  Please contact the Kinderchurch team for more information on joining our program at kinderchurch@gscceg.org.
